Privacy Policy

CODGuard ("the app", "we", "us") is provided by Nakson Group for use with Shopify stores. This policy explains what data the app accesses, why, and how it's handled.

What we access

Through Shopify's Admin API, the app reads and writes only what it needs to operate:

• Your shop's domain, installed shipping rates, and configured payment gateway names — used to let you pick which ones represent Cash on Delivery.
• Order data (Shopify order ID, payment gateway used, shipping rate used, fulfillment/cancellation/refund status) — used to track COD vs. prepaid split and detect repeat cancellations or returns.
• A Shopify-issued customer reference ID and shipping pin/zip code tied to orders — used only to flag repeat Cash-on-Delivery cancellations for fraud/RTO prevention. We do not access customer names, emails, phone numbers, or full addresses.

We never see full payment details, card numbers, or other checkout information — Shopify and its payment providers handle that directly and it never passes through our systems.

What we don't do

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
• We do not track customer browsing behavior on your storefront.
• Our checkout logic (hiding Cash on Delivery based on your rules) runs entirely inside Shopify's own checkout infrastructure — it evaluates your configuration without ever sending checkout data back to our servers.

Where data is stored

App data is stored on servers operated for Nakson Group and is retained only while the app remains installed on your store, except where noted below.

Data retention and deletion

• If a customer submits a data request through Shopify, we provide confirmation of what limited data (if any) we hold tied to that customer.
• If a customer requests redaction, we remove the reference ID linking any stored fraud-risk record to that customer.
• When the app is uninstalled, all shop-specific data is permanently deleted within 48 hours, in line with Shopify's app requirements.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change accordingly. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
