Billing & Refunds Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains how CODGuard's subscription billing, free trial, cancellations, and refunds work. It applies alongside our Terms of Service.
How billing works
- CODGuard's paid plans are billed through Shopify's own subscription billing (Shopify App Pricing) — the charge appears on your regular Shopify invoice, on the monthly or yearly interval you chose when subscribing.
- We never collect or store your card details directly; Shopify's billing system handles that entirely.
- Development stores and Partner sandbox stores are not charged, on any plan.
Free trial
Every plan includes a 7-day free trial starting from installation. If you uninstall or cancel before the trial ends, you will not be charged. If the trial period elapses without cancellation, billing begins automatically at the plan you selected.
Changing or cancelling your plan
- You can upgrade, downgrade, or switch billing interval at any time from inside the app. Changes generally take effect on your next billing cycle.
- You can cancel at any time by uninstalling CODGuard from your Shopify admin, or by removing the subscription from Shopify's billing settings. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not retroactively refund the current billing period unless one of the situations below applies.
Refunds
Because CODGuard is billed in advance for the period you're subscribed to, we don't prorate or refund unused time by default. That said, we will refund or credit a charge where:
- you were billed due to a verifiable error on our part (for example, a plan mismatch or a charge after a timely cancellation);
- a duplicate charge occurred for the same billing period; or
- the app was materially non-functional for a significant part of the billing period through a fault of ours, and you reported it within a reasonable time.
Refund requests outside these situations are reviewed case by case — email us and we'll take a look.
How to request a refund or dispute a charge
Email deepsealifesciences@gmail.com with your shop's myshopify.com domain and the billing date in question. Because billing runs through Shopify, you can also raise a billing dispute directly with Shopify Support, who can see the same subscription record we can.
Uninstalling and your data
Uninstalling CODGuard stops billing going forward. Shop-specific data is deleted within 48 hours of uninstall, as described in our Privacy Policy.
